Our best meal in Madrid.  The food was excellent and they had half portions in case you wanted to try more dishes.  The La Mama baby squids were sublime and cooked perfectly on the plancha and had a little smoke essence.  The Iberian pork loin with paprika potatoes was also very comforting and savory.  The langostines wrapped in wonton and fried with Japanese mayo were spectacular and the Russian salad with cod was light and almost refreshing.  They have a nice wine list with all different regions of Spain and the service was attentive and humble.  Also try the lavender ice cream with puréed banana Greek yogurt and pop rocks for dessert with the Tokay liqueur.

My husband and I had an excellent dinner at La Mamá on our honeymoon.

We started with gazpacho aperitif, which I could’ve ordered a big bowl of - absolutely delicious. The poached eggs were divine, and the tuna was simple but delicious. The beef cheek was tender and flavorful, but we were getting full.

The real star was the cheesecake, which they said was made with goat cheese. This was one of the best desserts I’ve ever had. We would visit again.

We visited La MaMa while on a trip to Madrid, having discovered the restaurant through the Michelin Guide. We both opted for the seasonal tasting menu and were thoroughly impressed from start to finish.

The food was excellent, good use of high-quality ingredients, well executed dishes, and some creative touches that kept the menu interesting. A particular highlight for us was the red tuna with roasted pepper. Absolutely top class, with the tuna practically melting in the mouth.

The service was equally good: attentive without feeling overbearing, which made for a relaxed and enjoyable experience.
